An Expression of Dynamism
The history of India is not only an entertaining and exciting aspect to any reader or listener but at the same time is also enlightening. From time immemorial this noble land of India, in vernacular Bharat Varsha, has been the seat of culture and education. It is the land where the first instance of human civilization rose to the pinnacle of glory. Besides through the formation of the ancient Vedic civilization it brought to the fore innovative notions of human excellence that are memorized with deepest veneration till date. Even the saga of different alternative and complementary treatment streams and their educations, of which Ayurveda happens to be the most prominent, was also given birth and developed in this soil. It is worthwhile to mention at this juncture, in spite of formation and glorification of royal dynasties the notion of imperialism or grabbing another kingdom by deceit was largely absent. To various schools of thoughts, this gracious attribute became the root cause of the downfall of the ancient India before the pernicious invaders and their sinister designs in the later ages. It should be remembered that all invasions against India ranging from Muhammad Ghori, Mongols, Afghans, Mughals to British had been put in effect through deceitful methods.
This makes one question of the true might of India till date. Well, there are lots of opinions on this but the historians, of all thoughts, do conclude that the Indians never retreated or backtracked from offering stiffest resistance. The instances of Prithwiraj Chawhan, Maharana Pratap, Chatrapati Shivajji, Chatrashal to Raja Pratapaditya of Bengal speaks of this eloquently. The same vigor and enterprise was also witnessed during the national freedom struggle against the British in both non-violent and revolutionary ways. The way in which the revolutionaries and the unarmed populace struggled against the mighty imperialist government proved the inherent vigor of the Indians once again. In the post-independent era this enterprise is being utilised under the auspieces of the Union Government to construct a glorious nation. To conclude, history is not only related with the royal dynasties and their exploits. On the contrary it is an integral part of the populace and its way of life, thought and culture.
