Effective Headship leads to Solidarity
What is the greatest contributing factor in the formation of a race? Religion, linguistic or ethnic affinity? Or unified struggle for some definite objective? Well, on this there can be endless debates but if there is any discourse on the Indian people all these conventional notions appear as futile. The main reason for this exceptional treatise is that in respects of religion, culture and ethnicity there is the presence of a huge diversity in India. So what binds them together and has bestowed on them the one exalted word 'people'? It is their unified history where their forefathers fought for a common objective, the national liberation from the foreign imperialistic yoke. Their unified struggle, frustration, humiliation, privacy led the formation of a strong foundation, free from any malice or sectarianism of all forms, and earned for them the status 'people'.

However, along with this, there is also the need of apposite leadership whose inspiration motivates the people to come under s single flag or identity. Fortunately, India has always been blessed to have these persons, who are known for their courage and selflessness to lead the people by showing a united front. For this we will always be indebted to Mahatma Gandhi, who through his struggles and inspiration led the race to fight through non-violence and non-resistance to fight against the unjust British. Who can ever forget his glorious role in Civil Disobedience, the Quit India movement, Dandi March and the Non-cooperation movement against British? His practices of Satyagraha or non-violent resistance has influenced leaders like former American leader Martin Luther King Jr., Myanmar's quest for democracy led by Aung San Suu Kyi and most notably anti-apartheid leader from South Africa, Nelson Mandela.

There were also others like Lokmanya Tilak, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhai Patel who also played key roles in the independence movement and solidarity of the Indian people. If you go to any county, you will find that the respective history of that country speaks eloquently of same necessary contribution.
